JAPAN TRAVEL:
Kyoto's Gion district Geisha.

Gion is a famous district of Kyoto Japan where geisha have been entertaining their wealthy customers for centuries. Built during Edo period to accommodate the needs of travelers and visitors to the shrine, it eventually evolved to become one of the best entertainment area of Japan.

In the evenings you can catch a sight of maiko and geiko walking through the old-fashioned streets of Gion, surrounded by old teahouses and sake stores.

JAPAN TRAVEL:
Kamakura Great Buddha.

In the grounds of Kotokuin temple in the city of Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, stands the monumental statue of the Great Buddha of Kamakura. This statue bronze is the second tallest Buddha statue in Japan.

Built in 1252 during Kamakura period, the 13.35 metre bronze statue is a National Treasure and is the centerpieces of the city's cultural and artistic heritages. A must see for Japanese poeple and tourists alike!

JAPAN TRAVEL:
Meoto Iwa Shrine.

Meoto Iwa or "Wedded Rocks" are two sacred rocks in the ocean near the town of Futami, Mie prefecture, Japan. According to Shinto, the two rocks, connected by a shimenawa rope, represent husband and wife, therefore, celebrating the sacred union in marriage of man and woman.

The sacred ropes, which weigh almost a tons, are replaced many times a year in a special ceremony. These holy rocks hold a very special place in the heart of the Japanese people.

JAPAN TRAVEL:
Nagano Snowmonkey.

The Nagano Prefecture, located in the center of Honshu Japan, draws many visitors for its famous Ryokans, onsens, ski resorts and natural parks. On of these parks, Jigokudani, populated by unique snow monkeys, who bathe in its natural hot springs.

In winter, they sit together, groom each other and relax in the hot spring the all day long thus keep their body warm. Those monkeys sure knows how to enjoy life!
